Companions & Homemakers Introduces New Advertising Campaign
2/18/2010
Companions & Homemakers, one of Connecticut’s largest and most experienced homecare agencies for older adults, recently debuted it’s new television advertising campaign. The goal of the campaign is to present older adults as empowered to make their own choices, versus the stereotypical view of being elderly, infirmed, or afraid. “The goal of our company,” explained Melanie Sevetz, Director of Sales and Marketing, “is to provide the help our clients need to remain independent, and to live how they want and where they want. Our new commercials try to get that message across, with a little bit of humor as well.”
The commercials were filmed throughout Connecticut in 2009, using local actors and production staff. They are in current rotation among several shows, including UConn men’s and women’s basketball games and the WVIT channel 30 morning newscast.

“…Shalene, Teresa, Nicola…They went above and beyond the call of duty. They not only were well trained in dealing with dementia but they also had a “heart” for it. They gave me peace of mind to leave Mom to go to work and I came home to a happy and loving atmosphere surrounding Mom.”
