Premier Live-In Services
Your loved one can remain home.
Historically, assisted living facilities and nursing homes have been viewed as the only choice for elderly people who need around-the-clock personal care. Unfortunately, neither institution can guarantee the type of consistent, compassionate, one-on-one attention your elderly loved one deserves.
Before making such a critical decision, there is an alternative you should be aware of – one that can be much better for the overall well-being and comfort of your loved one: a live-in home caregiver from Companions & Homemakers.
We know what you’re going through and we can help.
Since 1990, we have been providing live-in companion services for seniors throughout Connecticut. Our compassion for the elderly and superior standards of quality assurance has made us the most trusted home care provider in CT.
Our live-in companions provide 24 hour-a-day supervision, with continuous monitoring and coordination of daily activities. They help maintain a safe and comfortable home environment that allows your loved one to remain independent for as long as possible. Many of our elderly clients have had the same companions for years, resulting in a unique bond that has strengthened their mental and physical health.
We offer a wide variety of home support and personal care services. Our live-in companions assist with:
- Daily activities such as cooking, cleaning, laundry and simple household chores
- Personal care, such as bathing, dressing and incontinence care
- Maintaining medication schedules
- Telephone calls, errands and transportation to recreational activities
- Hospice care
- Evening and nighttime monitoring are also provided, so you can be sure your loved one is safe at night.
A flexible schedule to meet your needs.
Personal care needs differ, so we offer the flexibility necessary to provide care that is right for your loved one and for your family. Live-in companions are available for weekdays, weekends or both.
Special Alzheimer’s Care.
Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia can be particularly difficult. Seniors with Alzheimer’s disease can greatly benefit by remaining in familiar surroundings, which helps to ease the anxiety, pain and confusion that are so common with this disease. Our companions receive special training in music and touch therapy as well as in developing successful strategies to care for seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. They nurture and offer sensitivity to their clients at every stage of the disease.
You can be confident in our caregivers.
We know it can be difficult entrusting an outsider with the care of an elderly loved one. Our care coordinators thoroughly screen and interview all caregivers to ensure they are able to live up to the high standards we have set. We also encourage you to meet and personally choose the person who will care for your loved one. Throughout their assignment, we stay in close contact with you and the live-in caregiver to ensure your loved one’s needs are being met. In addition, we take care of:
- Employee bonding and liability insurance
- Workers’ compensation
- Payroll
- Payment of taxes in accordance with IRS regulations
- 24/7 Emergency Service
